Help!! Don't know where to start
by ILoveTTATT inok so to start... i am still an active jw... but only because i cannot get out yet... i am slowly planning to get out.... i should really read hassan's cult control book... it seems like i am getting everything wrong in trying to help the people i know to know ttatt.. so i will need your help, all of you dear people.. my current, actual beliefs are pretty much agnostic... no belief in any particular dogma, but i believe there is a higher power out there.... there are so many things on my mind... for example,.
1. the fact that no nt manuscript contains the name "jehovah".
2. the blood doctrine.

Welcome IloveTTATT. Love the name.
There are still some of us on here that believe in a higher power. After months and months of heavy research Hubby & I have come to the conclusion that man has tampered with the bible, but the basic, general spirit still gets thru. I started reading some of the 'rejected' text, i.e: Book of Enoch, Book of Jubilees, Gospel of Thomas, etc http://www.earlychristianwritings.com/index.html
Which I have found enlightening and give a little more of the puzzle pieces. The name Jehovah & Jesus are invented names, but their true pronunciations can be found. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wiBtYITrxM
Now that your mind is free, enjoy your journey and peace be with you. www.jwfacts is very helpful also.

Former Unbaptized Publisher, New Here
by GloomySunday informer unbaptized publisher, here.. i'm new to the forums and have hesitated for months to join this forum.
i was raised in a jw family, and was never baptized, because one of my parents didn't think i should be baptized early.. my mother became inactive, but i eventually went back for social contact, eventually starting a study.
i raised a few questions, only to find that the conductor would get irritated and defensive when my questions would get deeper into the topic.

Welcome Gloomy Sunday, glad to have you here with us. The WTBT$ is a very depressing organization because they are always beating us down and telling us how useless we are and we'll be lucky if God sees us fit enough to make it thru armeggedon. No wonder we're all so depressed!
But it does get better the longer you're away from it. Hang in there and peace on your journey.

It's WT leaders, not elders, who are responsible for all the harm. My Geneva, Switz. lecture posted here for new ones & Sola Scriptura to read
by AndersonsInfo inkeep it secret has been wts child abuse policy for years.
he said the policy that jehovah's witnesses have on how to handle cases of child abuse is without equal in the religious community.
why keep these forms secret?.

Were you or someone you know sexually molested by a Jehovah's Witness ?
by flipper indue to the fact there are about 27,000 members of this religion that are known pedophiles, and the information about it is kept in a secret database file, i wonder how many lurking jw's as well as others are aware of the severity of this problem?
remember, it's 27,000 pedophiles that they know about.
what about the thousands that don't get caught?

I knew of a young sister that tried to get her parents and the elders to believe her that an elder in her cong. was molesting her. No one would believe her, it was never reported to the authorities because the parents were told that Jehovah woulod take care of it. The sister left the organization and was later DF'd for committing fornication and getting pregnant. Nothing was ever done and that elder went on in that cong. probably molesting more kids.
Very sad, she was nice and just wanted to see some justice

They may not have a LEGAL obligation everywhere to report every incident, but as self-claimed servants of God, shouldn't they be bound by MORAL obligation to report every single incident or accusation to the authorities. They always view child abuse as a sin not a crime and that always pissed me off!

First post
by EastCoastMindFree ini have been on this site lurking for over 2 years and this is my first post, i feel so bottled with emotion that i have to let it out somehow so i do not have an emotional breakdown!
i was raised in the organization and am married with 2 children ages 4 and 2. my wife and i have been inactive for about 2 years and i have always had hard questions that were never answered growing up, such as blood policy and how david and his men were allowed to eat from the bread reserved for the high priests without death penalty since it was life or death.
carbon dating on human remains/tools that date back 30-40k years, far surpassing the 6k year man creation date, the double standards and very real "human" aspect on the organization and its decisions and history.

Welcome to forum, glad to have you here with us. Yes, just vent here, most were in the Borg for years and will be happy to support you and we truly do understand what you are going thru.
Hubby [Brother of the Hawk] & I were both JW's for 43+ years, raised in it, so believe me we understand! We even survived the 1975 fiasco! Our daughter Shyla [Gojira_101] is on here also, she was a born-in and in it for 29 years.
Peace be with you on your journey.

When "The Persecution" Comes - What a Let Down that turned out to be!
by cofty inwhen i was young there was endless speculation about "the persecution".
i have very clear memories as a child sitting in the old kingdom hall in coatbridge hearing it talked about from the platform.
it was a frequent topic at home.. sometimes there was lurid detail about what sort of torture "they" might use against us to make us betray others.

Good post & topic!
I remember those talks also. Who would have thought back then, that our 'Test' of faith and loyalty would have come from that very organization itself. We came to the point that it boiled down to loyalty to God & Christ or a man-made organization that claims to be God's organization but is really a bunch of power-hungry liars.
